The development of Ayacucho in BIM, grows from the need of updating the urbanistic information and give value to the historic patrimony, as well as creating a strategy to recreate the historic city center and carry out different urbanistic interventions to improve the city. A process of digitization of the city was carried out, which is currently used as a base to achieve this objectives.
The initial data collection is important so that a database can be created with the current state, a point cloud process and the creation of a BIM urban catalogue of the city elements.
Simultaneously the parameters needed to create a digital cadestry were identified.
A modeling strategy was studied to optimize the process, dividing the city in sectors and radial growth. Creating a base of LOD100 which will grow up to a LOD400 for the most important elements.
As a result in 6 months we generated a database of the current state and 150 blocks were digitally built, used as a base for the current urban interventions that are being developed for the restoration, renovation and improvement of the urban space, also used as a base for diverse information apps and VR.
